Definitely the times in which when leaving on a trip one would stop at any break on the road just to spread the map over the deposit and decide which way to go have ended, now thanks to technology and GPS navigators  this is no longer necessary. Reaching a destination no longer requires more mystery than writing the starting point and the final destination point.

It all started when GPS navigators came onto the market  where one could load the maps with the routes to follow and bring one of these devices to the front on the dashboard when leaving on a trip.

Despite the fact that there are brands like Tom Tom that continue to bet on their browsers (surely there are those who still consider it the best tool), technology continued to evolve so much that smartphones  can already fulfill this function, thanks to all the number of applications that one you can download from virtual stores (some for free).

Of course using a GPS navigator application has many advantages over a huge and challenging printed map, but using this technology also has its challenges.

The first thing to do is understand how it works, and discover all the possibilities it offers you in order to get the best out of it. Maps of Apple , Google Maps or Waze for example, are very good applications if you are within the city or where there is coverage, because they offer detailed reports of your route, such as traffic, works in progress, radars, among other things that may be happening at the moment, but you have to take into account that there is no connection everywhere and many of these applications stop working because they are not connected to the network, for these cases it is advisable to use the apps that allow you to download the map if your trip is longer. For that matter, there are applications like  Sygicwhich are free and lets you download the maps, it exists for IOS and  Android . There are others like  CoPilot  that has a version where it lets you download some maps at no cost, but if you want to get information and details of traffic and real time, you have to pay for a  Premium version . In short, there is actually a whole range of free and non-free options that allow you to download maps and others that do not, depending on your needs, the one that best suits you.

Another thing to take into account is recharging your  smartphone , it is useless if you have the best browser application if you do not have a battery, moreover, it is useless if you carry a smartphone with you if they do not have a battery. For that there are several solutions. Some more current model motorcycles already have a power outlet as standard, but if you cannot get equipment such as the GIVI Power Connection that connects to the motorcycle's battery. You can also carry a portable battery charger, it sure gets you out of a tight spot.

The base is another important accessory, Givi is a brand that has specialized in providing solutions to all these types of needs, such as the basic waterproof bags, where the transparent part lets you touch the screen without having to remove the mobile, from behind it has an arm that is fixed to the handlebar with two wing nuts. Some motorcycle brands already have their own too.
